Countertops are IN!

Well our recent development is that the countertops were installed today... in both the kitchen and master bathroom. YAH! So now you can see it is all starting to really come together. The faucets were put in as well.

As I type they are finishing with the installation of the lighting... and I am going to meet with someone about the shower door and shelves for closets etc. The most exciting news that Clint had today was that they were going to hang our blinds for us! SCORE!!! :) They also were able to finally get the gas meter on and so they were able to turn the heat on so the floors can start getting acclimated- hopefully they will be working on that stuff next week.

Will keep you posted- looks like T minus about 33 days until we are living there.

kitchen cabinets!!!

I am so so so excited about my kitchen cabinets- yes I know they are not like normal ones because they have different color base and top cabinets but I really am happy with the way they turned out. YAH! And they have also installed some of the lights as you can see from the picture from the dining room. I will have to take apic of our bathroom because the cabinets are in there and the tub front too- but I didnt do it because there was someone still working in there. I am hoping my countertops will be in soon as well! :) YAH!

Short week - lots done

Even though it has been a short week this week, I do think we did get many things accomplised. As you can see- we added columns on the front and back porches. They are planning to pour the patio next week and hopefully the sidewalks
etc soon.


I did want to share some exciting pics of th cabinets!! The blue room is the laundry room- it looks done- I mean you can see the floor-the sink is in... counters are even in!

This is a picture of the entertainment center in the living room that was built from scratch- I am excited about that as well- I can see many, many pictures that I have had in storage on those shelves already!

This is a picture of the guest bathroom- cabinets + countertops in! The paint needs another coat. So it will be a little darker.

Inside shaping up too

Yes we have SNOW here... and evidentally a tantalizing mud puddle that some little boy with his dump truck could NOT resist going through with his dump truck... It was cold, cold as you can see from his pink cheeks...

Here are some shots of my dining room- you can see the idea I am trying to go to... the color will be different... darker underneath the chair rails and inside the squares... and you see the idea of the fireplace- we are super excited about the way it is looking! Also our shower too... as you can see- the grout has not been put down but it should be this week. And then here is a pic taken from the dining room into my future kitchen and thru the living room.. Exciting! They are going to be working on closets this week and hopefully getting a lot more painting done.

Finish with the exterior

So, other than rough grading the yard and pouring the patio, front sidewalk and driveway turnaround... we are done on the exterior... Yes, I am so excited to see all of the choices that I made up together and they look good together (or at least I think so!) Whew!

All of the interior doors are hung... and as you can see the trim around the windows and doors are done... and the baseboards are in..

You know what this means... paint colors... ugh... I thought I had my colors picked out but after seeing a sample of them on the wall.. I know I dont. I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend... :) I am thinking the countdown is ON... I feel like putting a sign up to tear off the number of days that we have left in the apt.. (cannot be too sooon.. get me OUT OF HERE!!)

Here are some pics of the floors that are being put in... you can see our dining room in one picure and the hardwood is unfinished and not stained yet... but they are making real progress.. All of the tile is laid in the bathrooms and should be grouted soon.. They started on the shake shingles but the storm last night messed them up.. so hopefully that will get done this week as well as installing the garage door. Things are starting to come together... and I like things!! (which is always good, right? )

We got Stone

Here are a couple of shots of the stone... YAH! I really like the brick trim around the windows and doors.. And yes, that is our front door... it will be stained or painted later...

Below are just some pics of the front and the front porch... YAH! They started laying tile as well... and are done with the drywall.. we are moving right along.

Views of the front and back... Notice they did the chimney and all of the trim on the front and back...Porches/patio are being poured Friday and Sat. and then they should be able to start getting the stone on the front andthe fireplace.

Yep, they have the drywall DONE!!! I cannot believe it! Jake our builder is saying we may be in by January now..A month ahead.. The pics above are pics of our kitchen and then the other one is the bonus room.. It is starting to look like a house now!! Exciting!!!

Details, Details

Here are some pics from 11.05- I should have more recent ones to post soon... So these pics show the trim going up... they put the "roof" on the back porch and they were working on getting the backer board for the stone that will go up on the frnt of our house. They worked on hanging the drywall and should have that done by the end of the week.

Still moving right along..

This week the brick is finished.. the things that are not covered in brick will have stone or shake shingles on it... I picked out the colors for the shake shingles and the trim/gutters on Monday. The insulating should be done soon and the dry wall guys are coming right behind.. AND we have a front door!!!! YAH! No, we dont have a doorknob or a garage door yet so we can lock it up or anything.. but I am just excited to see the little things come together as well. I can already picture a Christmas wreath on it this time next year! :) I am also posting a close up of the brick.. because love the border that I picked out AND you get a better idea of the color of the brick that way..

More Brick

Here are some pics from the excitement that has happening.. the first set was taken on 10.24 and the second set was taken 10.27.. they are completely done with the brick now.. and we are getting the insulation done right now and the porches, steps and turnaround for drive way should be poured this week we hope...YAH!

Brick.... HOUSE

Yep, we got some brick on finally.. ( i say finally like it has been a long time?? really doesnt seem like it!) They started Wed/Thurs. and I may post some additional pics tonight because they were able to get alot more done over the weekend.. We are hoping for some rain so we can see how the roof does and then the dry wall will come and possibly the porches will be poured and the front doors might be delivered.. Things are moving right along.. I went and tried to start picking out my floors too this week (whew! )

Oh and on a less exciting but totally ness. note.. we got our septic tank and water line dug. Carter and I went out one night and he was sooo excited to see the mini loader, excavator and dump truck there working... Here are some pics of him standing at the tip top of a big rock pile and then here he is playing in Clint's much coveted crawl space under our house.. He is in the envy of his friends because he doesnt have to crawl in the crawl space..

What a difference a week makes

As you can see... yep, we have a roof!!! AND.. windows... yep that is right.. How cool is that? We should start seeing them come and do the brick and stone on the house THIS coming week!! Whoo! Hooo! It must be because they hired a really cute little worker that knows what to do with a wheelbarrow!! :) We met with the electricians today (in all my spare time with Carter's party this afternoon) and they were still working tonight getting all of the wiring run for the sheet rock guys to come next week as well. Progress is a good thing, ya'll! Hard to believe that on 8/30 just a little over a month ago nothing was even there on the land! God is good!
