Merry Christmas

We had such a fun Christmas this year! As you can see Carter was more into Christmas this year than last year- he was finally opening his presents by the end of the night on Christmas- but only because we told him that everything "might be a truck". We had so much fun catching up with all of our family and friends! Santa brought Carter a playhouse and a workbench so he can help daddy with his projects. Carter loves singing Frosty the Snowman.. (or bobby the man-man as he likes to say)

Our newest "trick"

Carter's newest "trick" that he is trying his hardest to master is trying to jump.... he usually just ends up stomping around, but it is so cute... he likes to say "jump, jump" when he is trying to "jump".... We do this a lot lately. In the backgroud you can hear his daddy trying to jump with him... It is so fun right now with Carter- what a blessing he is!!

talking on the phone

This is Carter "talking" on his phone... as you can see he has got the

"Hi" and the "bye" down... but it is all mush in between... Remotes also double

as phones for Carter these days- whatever works!

Trick or Treat!!

Here are some pics from our trunk or treat event we had this weekend at church. Carter is a penguin and he actually kept his cap on the whole time- I was shocked! He had fun, we are still trying to learn how to say trick or treat...it comes out more like tee tee....There was a girl there with lighted wings that he chased and there was also some kid dressed up like Elmo and he wanted to follow him/her around pointing and saying "Elmo!!!"

A language only a 2 year old can understand!

As you can see Carter loves the phone... He will pick up my

cell phone out of my purse and hold it up to his ear and say, Hi.. and then

"C-ya.." He is going to be calling girls before we know it!!

Stay off the Roads!

Only a few more years and I can already see Carter having to

do all of the mowing, he can't get enough of driving, he likes to "drive"

our cars and now he has his own motorized tractor that he can drive

pretty well. This is going to come in handy when we move into our

house with land! I can send him out to get the mail and the paper!!

Watch out for moving vehicles when you come to visit!!!

I am TWO!

Carter turned two Monday, and we had a little party this weekend for him. It was such a good time, lots of friends and family came to enjoy the fun! We had lots of Carter's friends there as well as everyone from granny's to great grandmothers! It was an Elmo party (of course) and we had cupcakes and a clown who entertained all of the kids by painting faces and making balloon animals. The kids also enjoyed the bouncer- Carter liked getting in it and running from one side to the next - he hasn't mastered actually jumping yet.... I am sure that will be coming soon. He is so blessed and got lots of cool things and he did not want to go to bed that night becaust he didn't want to leave all of his new toys!!

We did go to the doctor this morning for his yearly checkup and he is off the charts with his height- 37 in (90-95th %tile) and his weight was 32 lbs which was good too... so he is definately a growing boy!

The End of An Era...

For my 30th Birthday present my sweet husband got me and Jennifer tickets to go to the final farewell game for Biggio. It was so awesome! We got there and had to wait in line because it was completely sold out over 43,000 people came to see the Astros play (even though they are having a terrible year..) and to say good bye to a legend. There will never be another player like him- he is truly a player for kids to look up to... It was an awesome tribute to go and I am so glad that we got to go!!!

He was very humble, they had a ceremony before the game and he truly appreciated everything that was done for him and all of the fans that showed up to wish him well- he isn't a ball player that feels like he is entitled to all of the accolades given to him. He ran a victory lap around the stadium slapping hands with all of the fans and really did not want to leave the field... It was such a nice experience and I am so glad we got to go- glad Jennifer was able to make the trip with me, it was just like "old days!" :)
Go B-G-O!!! There will never be another like #7!!

What a big boy!!

It was a little cool this a.m. and so Carter had the first day of wearing pants and a jacket- an of course his cap too!! He is looking at the garbage truck in this picture. We had a good weekend this weekend, Carter got to meet Cade Christy's little newborn boy. He was telling us all where Cade's body parts were... pointing to his arm and telling us that is his arm, and hair etc.

I am this many!!!

It is hard to believe that Carter will be 2 in Oct. (which is not that far away!!!) I was telling Clint that this time last year Carter wasn't even walking he was still crawling/cruising... and now he is EVERYWHERE!!! He doesn't walk much- he must run everywhere- Hard to believe! This first year has just flown by!
I will tell you a funny story.. this weekend Clint said to Carter kidding around "Carter, you da man!!" and he looked at Clint and said "me." (kind of like, yeah I know I am...) I am going to try and get that on video and post it if I can... too funny!!!

Carter is coming for you, Lance!!

Go Titans Go!

This weekend we three got to go to a preseason Titans game. Carter liked watching the "ba-ball" game at first but then it was all about running around. Our friends that we went with had club level seats for us and so it was nice to go inside from the mugginess of a 90+ degree TN night. It was a fun night...

Loves to play

Carter found this playground and loved playing on it esp. the slide... once he mastered how to get up to the slide it was hard to get him off! He loves to slide and play..

We LOVE the beach

We just got back from the beach -

Little River,SC. Thank goodness Carter loved the water and the beach and of course the sand. Even though it was the week of July 4th, and the beach was crowded we all had a good time! We got to take a break from everything and cheat- like as you can see here Carter is getting to eat Doritos for lunch on the beach... Clint got to fish, I got to sunbathe and Carter got to go to the pool so everyone was happy. Now when we get in the car, Carter says "pool?" Life is definately more worthwhile for just a week at the beach!!
Carter was quite the "ladies man" on the beach.. he found a new "girlfriend"everyday... and would go up and chitter chatter with her... he likes them young though- one was 18mo. and the other one had just turned 1... He was glad that he finally found someone who could understand every word he said (mom and dad haven't quite figured out some of the words he says yet...)

Hot fun in the summertime!

It is definately summertime here in TN! Carter has re-discovered his pool and loves to splash in it- which also is great for the grass which is dying for water. We got him his first slide and he got so excited about it as well. The weather was much nicer this weekend and we all had fun together outside. We have to practically DRAG Carter inside.. he gotten really good on his feet- not falling down quite as often- and is actually running.
He has started being quite the conversationalist- much of which we can't understand, but we know one day soon. This is such a fun age... We got to see both grandma's and grandpa's, Reed and Julie - so it was a great weekend!!

Our Newest Purchase!

Well, as you can see.... we have something exciting happening for us. These are a couple of pictures of the new almost 7 acres of land that Clint and I are in the process of closing on. We are pretty excited about this and will be getting ready for some new things like building a house (yah!!) and other stuff that Clint is excited about like ("bushhogging" all of the tall grass and finding dirt to fill in a dry creek bed etc.) Carter is really excited ( as you can see from the other picture) about all of the land for him to run around in, have a big swingset and slide on!
This is a big step for us- but we will have plenty of room for anyone who wants to visit us now! Hope you all had a good weekend... we had a beautiful one here- God is good!

Happy Mother's Day!!

This has been a great Mother's Day today. Carter made me an apron that has his little handprints on it because he is my little helper always esp.when I am in the kitchen. Clint has been a sweetie as well.

I don't guess you really truly appreciate everything that goes into being a mom until you are a mom! It is just the greatest!! I am trying to cherish every fleeting moment that I have as a mom. Sometimes you need to sit still while life passes you by and take a minute to enjoy all of the blessings we are blessed with. I am so thankful to be a mom, to have a wonderful mother (who has a strong heart -thank goodness) and a good mother-in-law as well.

Mowing the Driveway

We were hard at work in the yard this weekend and Carter helped his dad out by taking care of mowing the driveway for him... What a big helper!!

This is our first post to our blog and I thought this might be a good way for people that I care about far and near to keep in touch with us. Posted here is a recent pic of the light of our life, Carter, who will be 19 mo. old soon. He is into everything and is a sweet child. Here in Mt Juliet, TN the weather is starting to get warm here and Carter loves to play outside.
Hopefully we can stay current on this blog...
