-------------------
And the walls came up today... things are really starting to take shape... Clint saw my closet and said it was so big (wouldnt take much to get bigger than the lovely apt closet!!) Tomorrow I am going to go meet with the builder to talk about ideas for the dining room and the back porch!

Dancing on the floors now!!

Here we are checking out the floors... yeah, that's right.. we have subfloors!!! Look above and you will see the back porch.. (the area that is not covered..that is blocked out). Carter is really enjoying going to the land frequently... he just walks up to the workers and tells them "Hi!!!" He has even pulled his dump trucks out there so he can help them move some dirt! :) We are expecting the walls to go up tomorrow! Yippeee!!!

Things are Stacking up Quite Nicely...

Well the big thing this past week was they were stacking the blocks- and so it is really starting to look like my house.. of course.. I still can't really tell what is what.. but Clint helps me.. :) I am excited... We also picked out our interior entry doors, windows have been ordered as well as my front door... We also picked up some faucets and I found a great deal on a sink we needed for the powder room!!! This week the big thing that will be happening is the lumber for framing will be delivered today or tomorrow... or maybe both.. So I am sure I will have more to post later...

Block Dropping Hands Clapping!

At the end of last week they dropped the blocks off.. and wow what a lot of blocks there are that go into making a house! The footers look great (as far as I know..) and it is starting to get exciting... today they started getting the blocks set and worked on Carter's wall and that side of the house.. which made him feel good... Here are some pics of what we saw this weekend when we went over there. I will post more after Wed. when they had made more progress..... until then... since I so new to all of this... any of you that have built or remodeled have any advice... on what you wish you had done or things that you are glad you did??? Would love to hear any advice on this process since I am such a rookie!!!

Footings being poured and hearts soared!!

Well the news this week that has happened is that the footings are being poured right now!! So exciting.. it is looking like this is "for real, ya'll!!" :) There is so much rock already there they were not able to dig a lot for the footings... nice to know we are on solid ground.. (in more ways than one.) We are expecting the blocks to be dropped on Friday (whatever that means.. I just know that is progress and that is all I care about!) Take a look at the excitement... you can see Carter in one of these.

Breaking Things In

Well, it fiiiiiinally happened! Ground has been broken! I thought the day would never, ever, ever, ever, never come! And I don't think I have ever been so excited about dirt moving before in my life! From these pictures, you can sort of see the lay of the land... The picture below is going to be our garage... couldn't you tell?? Lots of rocks... We should be seeing the footings being done soon. I have to go pick out the doors and the windows soon! Very excited!! Wanted to share...

New Chapter-

Yes, I know that I have not posted in a long time... almost a year actually! But to be honest, I felt like I had no good news to share and life has been going in fast forward lately...
We are a blessed family but have a couple of things- and if you know me very well you know what the main one is-- that have been holding me up... selling the house and building on our land that we have had for a while... It has really been a struggle for me... I know God has a plan for me.. but I really struggled because I didn't know what exactly He had lined up for me and me being me... I wanted it to fit into MY plan... Now most recently... I was really trying hard to focus on positive and just stop being in self inflicted limbo... so, more or less I just threw up my hands... and said odds are we will sell the house but I am done holding off on things until that happens... and wonders of wonders... it happened!!
Thanks to the fabulous realtor John Blackwell... we sold the house and closed on it all in a matter of one month (whew!! I am still not completely recovered!) and have closed on our construction loan now and should be breaking ground soon on my forever house... I will try and do better about posting here progress on the house as it comes..
But just a couple of things that I hope I can learn from this journey... I really, really hope that I can learn from this to trust in God.. He really does have a plan... Some days I did better than others... but through this I really kept the lines open talking to God at all hours, and in many different ways... prayers, praise and songs... I just kept thinking about my favorite Bible verse through all of this... Proverbs 20:24...
There is a little bit of weird sadness with me too... Any of you who know me, know that I don't get sentimental about much... and no, I am not going to tell you that I walked through the house crying about all of the memories we had there... but as I was driving off from that house I did hope that somehow if it might be similar to how I may feel when I am leaving Earth and heading to heaven.... so happy for all of the memories that I have had in the house.. bringing Carter home from the hospital and watching him grow, the excitement Clint and I had when we bought the house as newly married kids... but so excited about where I am headed...
More happiness to come- but it is great to know that I don't need to worry about being in control because He has it all taken care of!
